I like the A. J. Simms 1600T kit available from www.aircooled.net or www.lowbugget.com If I remember it's $2100, but it's complete with everything you need. I would not put it on a bone stock motor, but would consider it on a 1600 if you have a c/w crank and nicer heads. It's all about flow- the better flow you have, the less turbo-lag you have. Check out AJ's site (lowbugget) for info. Expect roughly double the HP on a 1600.

I thought aj's kit was for a bone stock 1600 dp, and that is why it was such a big deal. also, it only makes power to 4500 rpm's or so, so why the need for a C/w crank? and better heads? that is the whole point of a turbo system, you dont really need a lot of headwork with a turbo, and stock heads will do perfectly fine with aj's kit

AJ's kit is available in two versions, the entry level one is for stock to around 2 liters, the other is for the big boys. As to the heads- stock castings are fine for a 1600, but I would do mild porting and a three angle valve job- as I stated before, it's the exhaust that spins the turbo- so your engine has to flow to reduce turbo-lag. As to the c/w crank, you'll get to 4500 quite quickly- and if you're going to go for a turbo, there's no reason to put a few bucks into good parts that will increase longjevity.
