I'm going down to the 1/8 mile drags this Friday night September 8th at Qualcom stadium to run my bus. I'm putting out the word to whoever else wants to go...

Try not to DENT this Bus, buddy... 8)
I used to go all the time to the "Q", made some pretty good $$ off Phil Brown's light green, non descript, single quiet pack, 62 or 63 hardtop street-driven (at that time) ing Bug.
"Hey, you wanna race that Bug?"
"What does he run?"
"Oh, mid to low 10's"
(after talking to his buddies) "SURE I'll run that Bug!!"
(not knowing that while this is an EIGTH-MILE strip, and my estimation of "low 10's" was from watching Phil at Carlsbad in the QUARTER MILE).
After the rice burner or Mustang 5 Point Slow got is ass handed to him by Phil, they would, of course, come storming back, and say "You told us that Bug runs 10's!!!"
and I would say
"of course it does.. he has a glove box full of time slips from Carlsbad, with 10.14, 10.20, etc etc"
"But this is an EIGTH MILE track, you never said he ran 10's in the quarter mile!!"
"You never asked. Can I have my money now, please?"
