I have this Tacho which I would like to use, but I do not know if I can use it...
Can I use this on the beetle engine?? How should I connect it??

Yes you can use it.
Smith Gauges are British and found on things like MG's.
So it's a safe bet that it is a tach for a 4-cylinder car.
Get 2 jumpers, go back to your engine & hook up the jumpers to your coil where the points hook up then to the isolated connector on the gauge.
Take another jumper from ground to case ground on the gauge (brown wire).
If it doesn't work, then try reversing the connections because some British stuff was positive ground. |
