is the glass for the rear of a split window curved at all. will a cut flat piece work?

IN fact, every piece of glass in a split is perfectly flat...... (That is why the split window is the way it is!)

It was not cheap to make curved glass back in the early 50's that why so many cars had split windows back then

its not cheap even today to make curved glass. i got quoted nearly £3000 for a 58 and up rear window.

i wanted some red glass made up but that quote was for normal clear glass aswell.....

That $5500US! 1958-64 rear glass is abundant here in the States and can easily be bought for around $10/ea Why look into having one made?

basically i wanted to be a bit different to just tinting my windows red but when i heard the price i belive i changed my mind.
insane though isnt it.
the reason i asked about the split glass is the fact that i have an oval on its way and was gonna look into getting that made as its smaller and i had a thought of how much easier it would be if it were flat.
anyway ramblin g on now.
