| Do a search on samba for "Tool kit", I am sure there are plenty of picts of the older kits. I have the orignal kit from my 57 and it is a light tan..but that is after almost 5o years! |

I believe Wolfsburg West's tool back is pretty original looking.

I think the color could vary and be basically random. The bags were often made out of scrap upholstery fabric.
I have seen green ones in early cars so I think the Green one from WW would be a good choice if you don't care about finding an original kit:

Hi,
I would prefer original if I could find one in good condition, secondly, I've never seen an original one so I'm not too sure what they look like, is the oval and split bus tool the same ? I'll try to do a search on tool kit.
Thanks |

This may be a good example:

A Bus kit may be similar but will probably not have 100% of the same tools.
A good reference for what was contained in the tool kit would be the original owner's manual.
For 1956, you could reference the 1956 Owner's Manual on the site, specifically the tool kit listing page |
