| My son is interested in buying a 89 golf gti with 16 valve overhead cam. Are these trouble? The car seems to run ok. I'm looking for any pros and cons or direct me to another site. |

The 16v motor in my opinion along with most vdub friends of mine is the best and strongest vw motor yet! The car itself is also a very economical yet sporty and easy to work on car.
