I know a lot of people do not like the '72-'74 bumpers and try to "slim" them down by not using the impact strip or bumper guards. I have decided to embrace the fatness by running both and have bought a set of type 3 guards for the rear bumper which had none. After putting them on I have redefined fatness. They look huge. I feel ready to take on a Checy suburban with those things, but I am also wondering if type 3 guards are tryly interchangeable with Ghia ones of the same year?

| According to KGPR, the over riders have part numbers of 113-707-153 and 113-707-154. Since they are not 14x-... it makes me think that they are actually the same over-riders as on the beetle, just bolted to type 3 bumpers (part numbers 311-707-303 and 315-707-103). |

| My first Ghia was a 74 (years ago), my wife to be at the time even helped with the sanding. They are great cars, have fun with it. |
