For replacing the OG tin with that crappy taiwan stuff that don't fit and makes it so you can't use the stock air cleaner.
Oh yeah, and removing all the heating system under the hood. |

| for leaving every reciept, note, and order slip neatly packaged. Thanks for keeping it in a garage for 32 years, and thanks for maintaining it by the book. Damn you for not leaving the tool kit intact; but thanks for putting 5 brand new tires on right before you died. |

| My PO thought it was a good idea to repair the main fuel line, by replacing it with a rubber hose running from the tank UNDER the car to the engine yeah it was tied down to the pan by zip ties. Then your typical painting over the original paint, and the 10 layers of seat covers over the original ones. Not as bad as others here, no rust, no dash removal. I think i got lucky 8) |

Oh, and thanks to both for keeping the books and records, too, including the registrations which show the official date and mileage of the car through time!
That map of Muscatine is a very valuable collectable!
Yes, the P.O. of that car was meticulous. He went so far as to(I am not making this up)WAX the furnace and water heater in his house!! |

You ain't lyin'! Even the floor of his 2-car garage in FL was painted and the whole garage was "surgery room" clean with everything in its proper place. I think even Monk would be impressed  ! Sometimes you just get lucky :) |

not sure whether you knew or not, but the dash wasnt hacked out for a RHD conversion, but when the car was in California the owner had an aluminium dash in it with loads of old school gauges :)

That makes sense of the masked off area & the holes around the edge. I must get hold of Julian again some day & see what else he can tell me about it & show him what I've done with it. I tried writing to the guy he bought it from in Ca, but I had no reply. Shame, I'd love to know it's history. I'm about 2 days work away from getting it finished, btw (just in time to put it away for the winter  )
Cheers for the info 8) |

| I thank him for overfilling it with oil when he changed it the night before I picked it up. Drove it 180 miles with over a quart extra. One engine pull and deck lid cleaning later, the front main seal has been replaced and the oil leak is resolved. |

i wanna thank the owner previous to the guy i bought it from for turning it into a show car. putting in new badass seats, painting it, running speaker wire under the carpet, and then wrecking it.
i'll bet mike wants to thank him for covering it in bondo.
then i wanna thank mike for... not telling me it was a 6v tranny... thats a funny story! oh, and for being a cool ass guy, towed the car for me for less than gas would have cost, and putting up with me not getting him all his money for what, 3 weeks? thanks bro! |
