More updates to come....soon. Thanks for all the good vibes. When you go this far with a resto, you really need to do just one thing at a time. Before you know it, you will be done. Here are some pics of the shop I work in every day:

'60 Vette we are doing for a local Rich guy :

I had several members ask this via pm. I don't have price info yet though.

It is from International Epoxies and Sealers, San Antonio Florida.

Sound Deadener pads 10" x 20" x 3/32" thickProduct #1585

It's at the bottom of the page.

Here it is after 30 minutes of massaging the metal back where it was.

Seeing this inspired me to work on a '58-'63 vert decklid I bought awhile back in close to the same condition. I got the shape back in it, with just hammer and dolly work but it needs to be finalized.

Long lived early squares!

I only hope to inspire people here to try. You never know what you can do till you try it. Some things are better left to professionals though. I hauled my shell to the upholstery shop today. I sealed the seams in the sound deadener yesterday and bolted the body to the cart. Then removed the doors and engine lid. Here it is loaded and ready to roll:

It already left a cload of dust behind !!

I hope to have it back early next week. Headliner installed and ready for windows. He will do it right.

Enjoy, Steve

Why?

BTW; with your skills I'm sure you could have done the headliner perfectly yourself too!
Plus it's a fun job!

Thanks everyone.... I sealed the edges of the sound deadener in case the edges decided to peel. I also applied only 3 coats of clear. I sanded it with 1500 after 2 days and buffed the remaining clear to a high gloss. I took pictures of the shell in the trim shop friday. I hope to hear back from him midweek.

It's getting closer. I went out to the trim shop today to bring Marcus the dome lamp so he can check the fit to the headliner. He said by friday it should be done. I also brought him my Bentley manual so he installs the headliner like I want it. It's a good thing too, because he was going to install it like this :

Good thing I showed up when I did.

Enjoy, Steve
