HAHAHA .. nice

I picked up a 65 that looked like yours Solid so I thought LOL.
As I tore into it I found rivets and patches right over rusted out areas.
Thanks for the build because I was going to butt weld the rear repair section but I seen that you lap welded it. I tried for a butt weld but it wasn't happening LOL.

But you thread is keeping me going so far I replaced the rear wheel well section and waiting on more parts and patches. I will be moving allot slower as I am working outdoors no garage :( .

Allot of people on here say they would chuck these cars in this shape but New England only offers rust buckets LOL.

Steve here is a picture of the bug I had in the garage when you picked up the parts car. Your buffing directions and material lists helped out. Doug

Any updates? That interior guy must be really good if it takes him half a month to install a headliner without customers complaining.... ^^

Good things come to those that wait. I'm a believer in this saying. And yes, he is THAT good. I'm not one to comlplain, as long as the outcome is what I've anticipated. He is overwhelmed with work and agreed to "fit" me in as long as I wasn't in a hurry. Well, the time I've taken in the resto should show I'm a man of great patience.

Good news is.... I got a call yesterday from Marcus and he wanted my 1/4 windows and back glass so he can install them. (At No charge to me)Just in case the drive back to my shop might peel an edge up from the freshly installed headliner and side trim. So I delivered them out to him this afternoon and this is what I saw:

Man does it look GOOD !!!! Tomorrow I get to bring it back to the Resto shop !!

Enjoy, Steve

That is one awesome headliner !!! Mohair ?

Steve my old car is not in the same league with yours just a cool old driver. I wouldn't be able to get near that headliner without getting it dirty.
After getting my bus back from getting the headliner installed I hit the headliner with the heater cables installing them, not a good thing to do.

Looks great. Keep the updates coming

Doug, That bug looks great. I'd roll it no problem.

As for mine. I was busy today installing the front stabalizer bar and brackets, I filled the transmission with lube, installed the hood handle, installed the headlights in the housings. More to come soon. Tomorrow I haul the Bug "home" to the resto shop.

Enjoy, Steve

Man your car is SICK... hella sweet... Kyle

I would keep it on (just fix the clamps). The sway bar came in 60 I think (need to look it up for sure). I wasn't nick picking, just giving Steve a bad time about the clamps. New picks look good!
