well here she is, the pile of crap many people have come to know and hate. not much went into this car when it comes to money but me and a few friends managed to build her up pretty quickly.

well the story started about a year ago when my friend told me about a previously rolled over but original paint 58 bug and a abandoned 58 bus out in a yard that a guy wants to get rid of both for $500. well of course we jumped on it and split the money 50/50. i was originally going to get the bus only and he was going to get the bug and take what he wanted off it then send it to the scrapyard. well after my friend decided that he didn't even want to bother taking the 58 out of the guys swamp of a yard, i decided to pull the thing out.
after i got the bug in my possesion i gave it to another friend of mine that was looking for a "hoodride". well i gave the bug to him, he instantly bought new pans for it and new tires. the wheels and tires he had for the rear were some baja rims with some street tires on them that stuck out about 4 inches from the fender. the day he bought the pans i welded them in for him. time went by and no progress was being done, and i wanted a bug to drive around and put all these spare parts into that i had lying around so me and a few other friends decided to get it going.

the evening i got it home there were hardly any floors to speak of in it

heres the pans all welded in, por 15'd, and painted gold, yes, they are staying gold.

after putting in the 6" narrowed beam that a friend of mine built for it, beam is gold as well

a couple nights and 2 clicks in the back later

as she sat 3 days ago, alot has gone on in those 3 days

the temporary decklid, need to find more of a correct year decklid, picked it up at the classic for $10. friend of mine put this on it for me

gold tank, picture doesn't do it justice

I'd paint the wheel wells gold to match! Inside of the headlight buckets too.

Mr. Bungle Sat Oct 21, 2006 12:48 pm

apart from the gold interior and that stupid ass shit painted on the decklid, i kind of like the look.

i dont mind the gold drums. the gold beam & the gold tank are a little bit of overkill, but they are rarely seen.

the problem is russell, is that you have to learn to be subtle without looking stupid.

i haven't got pics yet but i didn't really like the look of the interior after awhile earlier, the day i cleaned the firewall and repainted it cold, i painted it black. reason being the interior was gold but the doors are black still, so it looked stupid, i was planning on keeping the firewall, parcell tray and fenderells gold, but when it goes from black to gold it made it look worse, so its all black, im gonna do a few gold touches to it though to the black to keep it different.

This thread alone has almost made me switch to Honda's just so that I am not associated with that car.

at least sand and primer it.
but at least it was saved from it's fate- good for you.
