For example. The upper hood seal is NLA, as well as some other parts that you would think they would be available somehow. But, some parts youīll think would not be available, actually are available. For example, the transmission carrier for a swingaxle trasmission. But you canīt get the engine mounts from them.
Weird, isnīt it?
What is even stranger is that the seal is available in Germany still.
If you need one let me know. I may be getting some to offer with the Mexican style hood seal anyway. |

Beware,
This thermostat flaps kit does not fit 1600 engines with the doghouse cooler.
Also, that "complete" kit is missing the return spring and the clips to hold it all together.

Here's a pic of a shroud with that same connecting link. Notice how it will interfere with the oil cooler of a doghouse shroud.

It should be required to supply a pic with cars being priced anything over $10k and at the very least a reasonable amount of information. And while I'm sure this car is worth something I'm pretty sure he is about 15k too high (I'm being nice). If a 76 triple white is worth this much....I'm going on a buying spree on white verts! I can pay my mortgage off after only selling 6 cars!!!!
BTW....I can pick up at least 2 in my area that are triple white. 1 is a nice (not perfect) DD for $5k and the other was a redo of a clean car for $9k.
Here's the ad: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=955302
If this car is actually worth this much...then excuse my ignorance....it was a long nite our new baby and I'm only on my 1st cup of coffee. |

What burns me is the shipping cost of anything from a case saver to the cost of shipping for engines. I need a single 14mm case saver for a repair and to get one from out west costs less than $2 but the shipping is over $12.00, plus takes 7-12 days to get.
Why couldn't they mail it in a letter size envelope? |

What do you think that would cost? |

They can print the USPS postage online just like they do with UPS. I ship a lot of small packages this way. If it can fit in a bubble mailer or the like it's usually only 2 dollars. Hell the USPS will send you all the boxes and envelopes you want. Even if you use the small flat rate boxes it's only around 5 bucks. |

| Only thing I have to whine about is how I can get everything i need for a part of my bug but one piece. It sits on back order for a week and I have to stare at my bug and parts unable to complete the job. Like my windshield wipers I can't finish. Or my door cards. Or my window felts. |

Beware of this thermostat flaps kit:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=889670
Says it fits 1600s, but doesn't tell you it doesn't fit engines with doghouse oil coolers.
Also, that "complete" kit is missing the clips to connect the long link to the flaps, the clips to connect the rod to the flaps, and the return spring. |

I've got 4 '75 FI's now. 2 Standards parts cars, 1 Standard 110 being restored and my La Grande. They are the only ones I can find for sale in the last 2 years. |

LOL Bruce! Don't you reckon the mailman stops at their place of business to deliver them mail? I'd reckon the mailman could just as easily pick up a letter sized envelope with one case saver in it.
That's alright though, I just paid 15.95 shipping and handling for 16 case savers and two self-tapping 10mm repair cylinder studs. Total weight was 1-3/4 lbs. I really didn't need but one case saver though. I can't tell you how many would be orders I have decided I could do without simply because the shipping is too over priced. I dout I am the only one in the U.S. that has decided they could do without buying parts simply because the sh & handling is outrageously high. To these businesses this translates into missed sales they could have made. Many times the sh & handling has caused me to simply empty my shopping cart. |
