| ^^ yeah, i had to just settle with a rusty one, and try to bring it back. look at a few, and do some research. many parts are easliy cut out and replaced, or you could do like i did/ am doing, and patch what is still there |

| Just had to vent on this, as I cannot find front fenders for a Beetle that are available or useable in the state of Michigan. Shipping from Cali is about $200 for a pair of not so nice fitting fenders, add in the cost of said fenders and total is crazy high ! I know it is what it is and Spring is coming so maybe swap meet fenders will pop up and make my day. O.k. I feel better now. |

sat out by a well traveled road for well over a year with a "for sale" sign on it with no takers, I even looked at it & passed initially. It was being sold by a friend of mine. Well, I ended up buying it & hauling it home. I "hid" it behind my garage, hoping to get what I need off of it this coming spring. Well apparently I didn't "hide" it well enough because I came home the other day to find a note on my door that read: "Sorry to bother you but I am interested in the VW bug behind your garage and was wondering if you wanted to sell it. Can you please let me know eather <sic> way please
Thanks Dan" (His name I suppose, it's not my name). Here's the kicker: he left a number, but the last digit isn't a number at all- it's an "A"! So, I can't even call him to say it's not for sale! Guess I'll put a tarp on it...
just pull a mister bean (from the movie) and try every number for the missing one. You only have 10 chances and 9 to get them wrong. :P |

found this forsalf today. OMG this guy acctually wants 24 g's for a fat chick? And why would be put 30,000 dollars into this thing? Is he STOOPID? It is a nice car but not 24,000 dollars nice. With 24 g's i would buy a brand new car. Or atleast a fully restored oval or something. Not a 68!

It's a recurring thing but sellers that can't be bothered to research what they have and advertise it correctly. They are also usually the ones perpetuating false info to other members on the Samba. |

I am not sure how to post the ad so everyone can see it. But this is my buddies car and he must be smoking crack.
God damn liar!!!! This car is such a piece of shit. His "custom paint job" was done with a fucking roller.
No rust my ass, besides the one under the battery tray, rear parcel and heater channels. He didn't post that. lol

If someone can please show the post for me, or tell me how so I can put up his ad from CL.
And he is going to fix the motor  |

| I have a whine about the 2 sellers I've been writing back and forth with recently who seem shocked and offended that I don't want to pay cash outright for their car which I've only seen in one hazy picture taken at twilight as posted in the classifieds. And another whine about those who don't write back after you ask for pictures of the "very little rust". |

Im getting very annoyed with people selling bugs on craigslist but never replying to me!
If you have an ad online and you arent actually selling your car or it already sold... TAKE THE AD DOWN! and stop wasting my time,
I have a baby on the way and i want to squeeze at least one more project car in before it gets here!!!! |

Amen! I must have inquired about 4-5 Bugs on Craigslist and the sellers never got back to me. Were the cars really for sale, or were the sellers just testing the waters? Or too lazy to remove the ad, or check their e-mail? Never had this problem with Ebay sellers (for other products, not an entire car). Maybe paying for your ad makes you more motivated? |

| my whine is about CL itself. i've sold my old super, and deleted the ad about 4 times already, and i'm still getting texts, emails, and phonecalls over a month later! holy hell. on top of that, many of them are trying to buy my jeep and standard beetle that were in the background of the pics. i sold the one i didn't want, then deleted the ad. give me a break, please and thank you. |

I am working on restoring a 1972 standard beetle. Purchased new crescent vents from Westcoast Metric and cannot make them snap in. They appear to fit except they won't snap in place. Can anyone give me advise or have experience.
Thanks |
