Yes , I told him it was not a super but he was guided by the 40pbics and the brass badge on the cap??
546 case late 52 mid 53 . anyway like empigasser said pretty interesting parts on it( flapper boxes and og balance tube) but at $6,25?.00 is not that interesting.

Gary at Brezelwerks makes a perfect reproduction of that timing badge. I have an original and I still can't tell the difference.

BTW.....I once deducted points at a Concours when a 1500 owner put one of those distributor badges on his "normal". He just wanted the "cool" factor I guess.

Thanks Bob, The flapper boxes is what I am having a real bad time getting.

RE: Konis

Considering they are repainted and you can inscribe anything you would want on them, including date codes; how are you to tell they are not right when installed in a car?

Also, it costs $100 each to have Koni rebuild shocks, if they have the parts. They DON'T have all the parts these days anymore.

But, I agree $1000 is big money for those shocks.

( I was really happy to find NOS, in the box with all the instructions and extra hardware, Konis for another application where Koni is supplying the physically wrong looking shock these days. It only took two years to find them, though. Front pair from one place at about $200 (good price) and the rears at over $400 for the pair. I am just happy to have them, finally. Added to new uprated Eibach springs (painted and stripped like OE,) I now feel safe on the road driving.)
