I doubt this is true. Anyone considering this car is in the know and would know that Nic only sells sh.t. He has no respect in the Porsche community and once an inspection is done on the car they will discover it is not worth 1/2 as much.

For the amount of coin involved, anybody considering the car who is in the know (not always a given just because deep pockets are concerned) would have had a PPI performed before bidding. I sure wouldn't be spending a quarter mil on a car just based on a few photos, especially in the wrong color combo and with no documentation of whether it's the original drivetrain.

In my opinion and many others in the Porsche community, YES. Nick is a scum bag and sells S..T.

$800 bucks for a screwdriver. Sounds crazy huh? Look at it this way though. Imagine you have a $100K Speedster or a $250K Carrera that you just got done restoring. The Dana Point Concourse in in 2 weeks away and that damn little screwdriver is the only thing from keeping your car from being 'complete', $800 bucks doesn't seem so bad then.

I have seen the "correct" small Philips for a '53 Hazet VW box sell for over $300.

Funny thing is, Dad has a bunch of Hazet wrenches and other tools he acquired when he was flipping Porsche's in the '60's and '70's. To him they were cheap giveaway tools and he used them to cut up and weld on to create other tools. I'm sure a tool collector would cringe if he got a peek at his tool chest. That is also another reason why the tools that did survive in good, un-molested condition bring a premium.

I think that I pretty much destroyed every one of my dad's HAZET screw drivers. The handles would crack regularly 'cause of my banging on them with a hammer. They all had electric tape holding them together when I last saw them, back in the 80's.

The amazing thing is that the reserve isn't met yet.

Judging by the buyer's previous purchases, it was bought by a European gent with a LOT of $$$. Gotta love foreign buyers coupled with a weak dollar. I MUST have something to sell these guys . . .

 geez I will stick to bugs, makes me think it might be worth a trip up north to two hidden yards I know about with 4 or 5 complete rusty tubs
