| Guys I sent my car to the bodyshop. They are taking care of the hits and they are priming it up. I want to give it a 2 tone paint job but was thinking of doing it with spray can. Can u guys post some pics of your rides painted with cans.... Thanx...... |

| sorry but if you are going to spray paint your car, it probably dont deserve to be in pictures. Especially after you get it from the body shop. I mean, why even take it to a body shop in the first place then. Just my opinion I know Im probably an asshole. |

I wouldn't say you're an Asshole... cause I tend to agree with what you said.
To the OP - *please* save your lunch money of that's what it takes to get the extra chump change to get a decent paint job.
And please don't 'two tone' it. |

| To be honest its not the money issue... I have enough money to paint it.. I just dont want this to be a pitt of money. I just think that it would honestly look good if done right also any one can pay for a paint job I think that it is just the satisfaction of doing it yourself that will pay off. Also I dont think that u are a asshole everyone is entitled to there own opinion. |

| If it were me...since you have sent it to the shop, buy yourself a compressor and a gravity gun and shoot it your self. |

Exactly. Thats an excellent idea. Even a cheap gun from harbor freight will bring better results than rattle can with a little practice. Also, regular spray paint is not as durable to hold up its shine and color to the elements like real automotive paints.
Take a look at this thread. Eric "Ragman" painted his car himself. Awesome results.

| Whats wrong with a rattle can paint job? I was going to paint my 73 super flat black.thats like a $5 paint job. better than putting several hundreds of dallars into a crappy super beetle. |

| if you are good with a spray can some times they turn out good.keep in mind it could lift and make a mess.if you do go that route i would go to a autobody paint supply and buy some good paint.make sure the paint you are going over has cured.good luck. |

Only if you steal most of the paint. Lots of people have been real surprised by the number of cans it takes to paint a car.
Ask buggpower how much he spent. |

i think i spent close to 200 bucks, i used the acrylic enamel. its what the old school body shop people used but not in the spray can though. im not counting primer because i already had some so im just going by paint colors.its like a can or a can an a half for almost each body part, havent had the hood done yet though. its funny when people see it in person, they go wow that looks good  hold the can up an there like no way
by the way 5 dallors hmmm that would by 2 cans of enamel paint so...your going to just paint the roof  |
