Here's my '61 Mango (Nov. 1960 production). As found in New Hampshire in late '04, bought from a local car/truck/VW collector.

I already had this nice Carmel middle seat, which inspired me to find a proper bus to put it in.

The bus has been off the road under a tilt for many years, it got lightly hit down the passenger side and was taken off the road. No major damage but the cargo doors were totalled :( It really is very very dry indeed and no hack jobs anywhere :D

I`m in the process of going through ALL of the mechanicals (Brakes/Motor/Trans/Steering/suspension etc...) and restoring/refreshing and replacing where necessary.

I`ve got to paint the replacement cargo doors and then lightly fade and blend them to match the rest of the bus. The bumper had been rattle canned but I`ve stripped it back to og paint, looks awesome now. I`ve picked up a NOS rear blade for it at Vanfest this year. Not cheap but worth it on this og bus.

This one won`t be lowered/slammed/narrowed etc, but will have a 3.88 Rancho box with reduction boxes and a long stroke 1905cc motor. For saftey I am using the new CSP dics kit up front which allows you to run stock rims and will be converting to dual circuit brakes.

The interior is pretty knackered as it got cooked by the Cali sun. It will all be going back in however with the addition of a new og spec headlining. The headliner really was too far gone it simplt fell apart!

Should hopefully have this one all finished up by early spring, I`ll post some better pics then.
