just pointing out a flaw in your statement

The bolt pattern on the small and large nut redux boxes are only off by 1/32 of an inch, and thats only on the bolt hole that is by itself. The 3 bolt holes that are near each other are the same. All you have to do is either drill all the holes the next size up to allow a little play, or just oblong the one hole.

If you use stand up adapters, you will need a 3" longer than stock shock and a longer bolt with a spacer for the lower shock mount if you use the large nut boxes. I am not sure on the shock mounting on the small nut.

Could you zoom in a little closer? All I can see is a drain plug!

HamburgerBrad Tue Nov 14, 2006 10:36 am

i have a set of adapters like that do you have to disassemble the redux box to install?

thrown_hammer Wed Nov 15, 2006 2:07 pm

I have been told you do. I keep hearing there is a thread somewhere that goes step by step and has pictures but I haven't been able to find it. If it doesn't exist it will when I am done... 8)

Here are the axlw tube stiffeners that were at the welder when i posted pics of the adapters.

Check out that weld! (blurry but you get the idea)

Hammer, those are nice welds... can't wait to see this climb thru the ravine with these new low gears....

By the way, my jeep has "Large Nuts".

thrown_hammer Mon Nov 20, 2006 7:24 pm

I plan to reverse engineer them and post the drawings.

wyobuggy Mon Nov 20, 2006 10:48 pm

Shawn, did those pics help at all? Snail mail should happen this week.

hotratz Tue Nov 21, 2006 7:14 am

thrown_hammer,

Could you post the dimentions of those axle tube stiffeners?
How tightly do they fit over the axle tubes? If you can, could you measure the ID with a dial caliper or something? I'm about to make a set but was going to make a style that clamps around the tubes. Those look like they just slip fit onto the tubes.

Bentco Thu Nov 30, 2006 8:12 pm

any thing new

thrown_hammer Mon Dec 04, 2006 8:12 am

I will try and measure the tubes and get back with you.

Wyobuggy, I don’t think I got any pics from you, although I could of lost them…

It was 12 degrees here this AM so the gasoline heater has just received priority over the RGB project!
