Hi All, (my first post!)

I recently acquired this rail (see pics) thinking it was a Chenowth, Dave @ Kingfisher Kustoms doesnt think it is (he should know he was the UK importer for years).

I know its not a Fugative, but I cant work out what its is, anyone got any ideas?

The photos references are from 2 weeks ago when I got it. It was a mess, its now stripped to the frame, rebuilt brakes, repainted & ready for rebuilding :) Working on rails is sooo much easier that normal cars!

FYI Description of what I know so far:


Front

Pre 1965 Link pin front torsion beam
Modifications
Rear top beam has angle steel reinforcement
Supports two shock absorbers per side Pre 1965 5 stud Drum hubs Rack and Pinion steering Wheels/tyres
Long Travel towers
Ford (GM) rack and pinion steering

Rear
################
IRS Rear Suspension
Post 1967 4 Stud Drum hubs
Supports three shock absorbers per side

Engine
################
Ford OHC 1600c Water-cooled Engine (apparently approx 74bhp from an F Ford Sierra Reg)

Transmission
################
VW Type2 Bus gearbox
VW Gearbox to Ford Engine adaptor and plates.

Other
################
CNC Steering brakes

looks pretty good man, post some new pics of the progress here in the samba gallery, its alot easyer. looks like there are a few safty essentials you should pay attention to but over all looks like a great project[/url]

It looks a lot like the Chenowth I had 20 years ago.
