i just got a new rear heater core, the original one had deteriorated foam around the core, the new one came with no foam. Does the foam serve any purpose other than to seal the air flow?
Is it a big deal to install with no foam?
By the way, Go westy cost + 10 has the cores for $69 with free shipping. box said made in germany, product says Valeo Brevet. I am assuming a good brand.
Also is there anything special about the shut off valve o-ring? Can I use a metric nitrile o-ring from my o-ring kit?
