has anyone on here ever brought a car into the united states from mexico? a friend of mine goes to mexico every year around this time and see's alot of old vw's for sale cheap. this time a couple of ovals and a split he could get ahold of. so i was wondering what it would take to get the cars here legally? any info would be great.

It's been discussed many times. The short answer for late models is that there are no legal ways to do it and it isn't worth the hassle and risk to do it the illegal ways.
Now, for Ovals and Splits it might be possible, as those cars are over the age limit for import. There is some paperwork but that sort of thing is done all the time for vintage vehicles from Europe. |
