I moved mine back on the buggy, but didn't take pictures of it while I was doing it. I cut out the whole section of the tunnel complete with the bushing hanger behind the shifter location, then cut another section out where I wanted it located. Tack welded it in and started on the shift rod. I used a electrical conduit bender to get the right offset for it to line up with the transmision. I also welded in one of the adjustible rear stubs for fine adjustments in the final length. Take your time and measure as close as you can. Make sure the shifter works smoothly before you weld everything for good.
