Hi,

What does the ID plate in split Beetles, that is behind the spare tire say? I know that it says the year of the Beetle, the chassis #, and the cm3 of the engine that in this case would be 1.131.

Thanks

Payload
Empty weight
Total weight
Front axle wt. limit kilograms
Rear axle wt. limit kilograms

Nutzlast
Leergewicht
Gesamtgewicht
achsedrueck vorn
achsedrueck hinten

You have the 15th 1968 car there, a rare find indeed ....

Or , it's an early vert and the numbers give
1 from 5 is 4 ; taking the sqare root gives 2; so
2 x 1968 = 3936

Therefore, I deduce that the cost was less than  $4000.

:D

Thanks,

The pic is just for illustration and I got it from the gallery. It is from a 1950 Karman vert.

Its my 1950, it would have been nice to Pm me first before you used it as a Illustration. My lawyers will be in contact soon

STFU. You posted it publicly, he has every right to use it. It's not like he was making money off it anyway.

I did not mean to hurt anyone or make anyone mad. Sorry if you think I do not have the right to use your pic. I thought I could since it was in the gallery. I have already removed the pic from the forum.

Sorry

This might sound like a silly question, but what does payload mean?

The weight a car can safely carry. A term usually associated with the load bearing capacity of a truck.
