Yes, a lot od part stores in deed, but very oriented to 63 and newer cars, very difficult to find 62 and older parts....
You are welcomed whenever you want....and if you are inetrested in parts, I can do whatever I can to find them...
Have a good one.

We do an excelent event once a year in Mexico City, called the Treffen, witch is for aircolled pre-73 VWs. We gather around 120 cars in top condition (there are admission rules...) and we give out prices, kind of a Classic or a Bad Camberg.....you should come down....by the end of november.
Here is a link:

We are updating the page, but it is shure worth it....
Have a good one.

That looks like a lot of fun! It looked like the one picture was a line up of Ultima Edicion! Very nice!
Heini, do the parts stores sell air conditioning kits for beetles from the 60's era? I would love to find a vintage looking AC set up for my 66!

Jerry,
What brought you to Mexico? Are you there temporarily, or is that your permanent residence? How is the VW scene down there?
Take care,

i'm here permanently,my parents moved here in '88, the vw scene in guadalajara is kinda cool if you hang out with the right people, most guys here are in it for $$$$ because they try to sell their leftover parts that they say are good but arent, jelousy is another factor.
the people i hang out with, are very helpful & never expect anything in return, we really help each other out and care for our friendship but mostly, our vw's |

Guadalajara is the place, no doubt. I just sold my split to a good friend of mine that lives in Guadalajara. If by any chance you get to see a nice 1950 green Split, well, say hi to El Aguacate.
Actually, considering that my car arrived to Guadalajara last month, it makes this city the one with most split windows in Mexico, 3.
Did you go to La Gala back in October?
Saludos.

And yes, stay out of local jelousy, it realy stinks...I know a couple of them up there...man.
But on the nice side, there are several very nice VW enthusiasts that really are worth it....what car do you have?
Saludos.

His name is Ricardo and he is a very good friend of mine....actually, we are going together to Bad Camberg this year, We are organizing a tour through Germany and a total of 6 people will be going from Guadalajara: Ricardo and wife, Saul and son and Santiago and son. They are all wonderful people. Our group (26) is very excited about our trip, interested to go?
His brick red split is unique, it's a 1950 unrestored 11G, which makes this car special. He also has a 1951 split which is almost ready, a barndoor (blue) in top condition and a 1968 bug, also superb. He is a perfectionist and a very good friend (not in the group of the jelous ones)...
A common friend, Manuel, is the owner of El Aguacate, the best split in Mexico....'cause it was mine (joke!) :D
I go to Guadalajara often....
Saludos.
