Good work! It's always nice to see meaningful progress being made, especially when it's evident that this is a family affair. Kudos for getting your son involved, and teaching him the craft, including safety precautions [goggles, etc].

Keep it up and keep us posted.

Looks like real progress is being made................keep up the good work.

Cool.
I'm jealous about the shop.
Rolling around in the driveway is getting old.

Looks like its coming along!! outstanding job!!!!

Thanks! It really is starting to come along now! We had to take a break from it while my husband finished up his Master's degree...but now we have time to devote to it and we enjoy working on it as a family. My boys get a lot of pride from it and will hopefully someday get to drive the car!

And we are awfully blessed to have such a great shop! It has heat, air, computer and a recliner!

It seems overwhelming sometimes, but a lot of what we thought we couldn't do is already done and behind us! We're gaining confidence.

Sorry to read about your pet chicken. :(

Thank you! I've gotten emails from people all over the world about it and a couple of celebrities.

That was a really sad thing. Most of my neighbors are great, as you can probably tell from my blog...one or the other is always wanting to help us out with the car or just stopping by and encouraging us. But a neighbor down the street is just not that way...not a good neighbor in any way. She let her German Shepherd out to poop just where ever it would...in other people's yards, you know...and it dug under my privacy fence into my back yard. I woke up hearing this awful noise and found that dog throwing my hens around.

I didn't have a shotgun and so I grabbed up a huge butcher knife and ran out there. It ran off with one of my hens in it's mouth, which I was able to retrieve on the other side of the fence. I chased that dog all the way to it's home, in my pjs and housecoat, with a butcher knife in one hand and a bloody chicken in the other. (I often wonder what passersby must've thought!)

So I found out where it lived and called animal control, they came out and took pictures of the carnage and took the dog away. Also I filed a complaint against the woman for allowing the dog to be at large (against the rules in the city limits). She got an $85 ticket.

If my dog had done something like that...I would've been so mortified. Would've tried to make amends, you know? This woman's response? "I guess I gotta pay for them chickens!" I didn't pursue it. I believe that the way you treat people will come back to you for good or ill, and this lady's time will come.

Anyway, of my four hens, two were dead and the other two had to be put out of their misery by my husband.

It's ok...I kinda smile about too, in retrospect.

Thanks!

You know, it may seem silly, but if I could just get this car running good enough to be in a 2-mile parade, I'd be very happy.

The parade I'm thinking of is in October, so we have a few months yet...but that's the goal. Running by October of '07.
