i have a 1970 squareback and i want to convert the brakes to 5 lug instead of 4 lug. what is the best way to do this that is not super expensive and doesnt use adapters. would i just be able to use drums and discs from an earlier model type3? any info is appreciated.

so you wanted to go wide 5? on a pig-nose? that is violating so many rules of style im not even going to begin.
probly the easiest way to convert to wide 5 is to find an early pan (or an early car and scrap your pig-nose) and take that route. for any other bolt pattern, take your rotors and drums to a machine shop to have them redrilled to the bolt pattern of your choice.
p.s. wide 5 came only as all wheel drums, no disc, although there are now wide 5 disc conversions on the market. |
