I'd also like to see an EV category, and I'm sure you'd see a traffic uptick if you did so.
What's to lose?
Pneumatic & Wasser freaks wouldn't have to be bothered by poorly-labeled EV posts, the EV folks wouldn't have to sift through so much to find relevant posts.
I don't understand why you wouldn't do the split.
Is it that you don't want another branch to moderate?
VWVortex is certainly useful, but the search capability is crapola on that forum and it's all a big 'ol gumbo of posts.
Yahoo groups? crazy damn format.

Sooner or later somebody gonna do the EV right with a useable forum structure, and you'll lose out on that bit of traffic.

just my coupla cents.

BTW, thanks for the forum, it's great!

Subarus, we don't need no stinkin' Subarus
i think the answer was no last time.

all front engine VW's should be with the other vw vehicles or the eurovan should have its own section. "If you build it they will come" I think the vanagon clutter discourages eurovan owners from posting. Those that are knowledgeable of eurovans are certainly not going to search for eurovan postings too help out.

besides, there is nothing even remotely similar on the vanagon and eurovan? is there?

did you even read the entire thread before posting?

sure did, and I added my opinion of why there should be a separate eurovan section.

I can rephrase and sum it up: There is not allot of eurovan action because there is not a separate forum for them. They are discouraged to post because of the 99% vanagon discussion.
Just because EB said no one time, does not mean he will say no forever.

I offered my feedback.... that was all.

You know there are Eurovan specific forums on the Interweb.

Here's one to start you off:
http://www.eurovan.org/phpnuke/html/modules.php?name=Forums

Quote: Our users have posted a total of 340 articles
We have 811 registered users
They came and said nothing. There's more registered users than posts.

ok. if the goal of the site feedback is to redirect folks to other sites that is fine. I thought it was about suggestions for improving this site.

there are also other aircooled sits on the web? do you want everyone to go there?

A eurovan is as close to a vanagon as a golf is to a bug...

It's your option, but this is the best.

This is not and looks like it doesn't want to be the "best" Eurovan forum.

wgargan wrote: A eurovan is as close to a vanagon as a golf is to a bug...
Thanks for pointing that out. Since we don't have a Bug/Golf forum I suggest we remove the Eurovan and have a Vanagon only forum and put all those posts in the " Other VW vehicles" forum where the Golf posts go.

Great idea.

This is correct - you are free to bring topics up again if you think it warrants more discussion.

The only feedback I have gotten is through this thread so I don't think there are a ton of people waiting for a dedicated Eurovan Forum.

You are correct that we are not in the "business" of directing people elsewhere, although sometimes that is justified.

I still think that prefixing your post with Eurovan or using Eurovan in the title is a very usable substitution for using the same Forum. I see a bunch of threads when I title search on Eurovan in the current Forum, although a number of them have to do with using Eurovan parts on a Vanagon.

Since this is the best VW site on the 'net, I'd like to see it expand to include Eurovan. I think those asking already know about VWVortex, but would prefer to use theSamba.

It does include the Eurovan. Its the 9th forum down from the top...

but your opinion didn't state anything new -- and stating that the reason that there isn't more EV traffic because there isn't a separate forum is just plain ridiculous...

He just got some more feedback. Blank mange, if you have nothing to contribute to this thread, stop posting.

EdW Mon Nov 03, 2008 4:49 pm

My opinion is that this site should ban all water cooled vehicles including the wasserboxer vanagons.

so, in this thread of opinions, my opinion shouldn't be heard? anybody else that has an opinion that counters yours shouldn't be posting in this thread... or just me?

and I agree with EdW...

MrBreeze Mon Nov 03, 2008 4:54 pm

Why not create your own Eurovan board? You could corner the market.

you have not stated a conflicting opinion  Done with you...

Meanwhile your opinion is to nag when you've already been told no.

done with me..... yeah...

true enough, I did not offer a conflicting opinion... so here it is:

we don't need a separate EV forum; EV's should be stripped from the site, along with any other watercooled VW -- if you want your watercooled VW info, go somewhere else or start your own site...

how's that for conflicting?

That's not a conflicting opinion to the original thread question? :?

don't confuse him with factual data; it's readily apparent that's not what he wants...
