What is up with the following, is it not PC?

The word N I G G L Y (as a serious of contiguous letters) automatically gets translated to (along with N I G G L E):

"Niggly"

"attractive and successful african american" (should match above text until changed.)

This is a normal word that I sometimes use. A quick google shows:

Verb 1. - worry unnecessarily or excessively; "don't fuss too much over the grandchildren--they are quite big now"
fret, fuss
worry - be worried, concerned, anxious, troubled, or uneasy; "I worry about my job"
scruple - raise scruples; "He lied and did not even scruple about it"
dither, pother, flap - make a fuss; be agitated
2. - argue over petty things; "Let's not quibble over pennies"
bicker, brabble, pettifog, squabble, quibble
argue, contend, debate, fence - have an argument about something

There are some words that are filtered out on this site. There is a word close to N I G G L E that fits that description.

Please do not use random words that most of our readers do not understand, especially when they conflict with obviously racist terms.

It's unfortunate that the term in question had to be censored but there have been several cases of severe abuse that justified it.

Besides, I prefer to refer to everyone as my "bitch". It is so choice. I highly recommend using it.

The term in question, "ni..ly," is not some obscure or "random" word in the English language. It is a term that is aptly describes certain kinds of issues. I only used it in a post because it was an appropriate use of the term. Pure and simple. If the primary language of this website were, say German (because we discuss German cars,) then perhaps the term might not be readily understood.

Please do not "dumb down" the users. This is typical of America today. Not good. Use a dictionary if you don't know what a term means. Ditto for any filtering software. It should look up a word and not simply assume it contains a sequence of letters.

Please do not try to infer that anyone was trying to use the "N" word, Not the case. In a way, I feel insulted by being told not to certain words becase they are "obviously racist." If I knew it was so obvious, I would not have posted!

Again, I assert the software should look up the word and, perhaps, use a grammar engine to decide if the context truly warrants censor.

I guess I was dumb in not considering just how primative the software is, as I could not conceive of (or find) any bad or not PC meanings of the word in question.

Sounds like you should go over to Colin's forum. You can say Ňiggle all you want....otherwise, stop bitching.

Welcome to the increased dumbing down of the average American. Words are a total loss for many, as their vocabulary consists mainly of profanity and approximately 200 other words.

There are many ways of spelling the particular offensive word in question, which requires a dumbing down of how to match it via software.

You are overestimating the capabilities of current computer software.

Please consult your thesaurus as needed to convey your intended statements in the needed manner.

Accusing Everett of "dumbing down the users" is mildly humorous coming from someone who struggles to spell the word "strange" in the title of the post...

I also find it ironic that one of the definitions of "n!ggle" is "To be preoccupied with trifles or petty details."

What is the translation of the Gaelic terms?
Regarding the use of software: It's ALL pretty dumb! Don't be mistaken, it doesn't think, it just sorts from all possible choices. A DUMB sort..
And BTW, I think Walt misspelled "Strange" on purpose! I'm always up for learning new words, particularly when they fit the situation.
