Hi,
I'm a newbie to this group and need advice on a 912e purchase a few months back. The problem I'm having is hesitation under load. This vehicle still has the stock FI installed. I recently installed new plugs and wires (nkg) as well a replace some / most of the vacuum lines as I've heard this cars a particularly sensitive to leaks.
Thanks for the feedback!
Dave

Make sure the timing is set correctly and valves are adjusted properly before anything else. Check your fuel filter, it may be restricting fuel flow. You may as well change, if you don't know the condition of it. Of course also make sure the air filter is clean.

Hi Dave,
You may want to post your question on the 912 website also. It never hurts to get as many opinions as you can when it comes to these cars. They have a section dedicated to 912Es.

Just remember that before you set the timing, check and adjust the valves as necessary. Also, let the car sit overnight before checking and adjusting as the engine MUST be cold. Make sure that your point gap is correct (.016 gap OR 46-50 degrees DWELL) also, BEFORE setting your timing @ 27 degrees BTDC @ 3500 RPM with vacuum hose(s) removed and plugged. By the way, what is the last four digits of the VIN# on your car?
Good Luck! |
