I saw that earlier today. Wasn't it originally $600? Man, I need to try these tactics.
Oh yeah, Mr $200 "HTF" rear seat told me he won't tell me where his market is. I think he's full of shit that he sold a back seat for $200; otherwise, he found a really naive person.

If he's getting $100 for these, I have about about $1,500 worth in my stash.
My brother did that with an old Schirroco (sp?). He had it sitting in font of the house with a sign on it for $200.00. Nobody looked at it or called about it. He waited a couple weeks and put it back out there for $700.00 and sold it the next day. |

BAH! Ya, I forgot to include such info. Now, I've got dibs on this & so don't get any ideas if it is a good deal! ;)
3 versions? I'm new to the Ghia game, so I'm clueless which is what, but I learn fast. Is the above badge appropriate for a '67? |

Yes, that one would be correct for 1967, but I must say there
appears to be little shine remaining on that particular
nose badge. Very well worn, indeed!
As for the 3 versions, check them out here:

There is an additional version that came after the
enameled badge which was one piece, chromed metal. |

Dibs? LOL. This is the internet partner...there are so many lurkers I wouldn't post anything I had hopes of aquiring..... However, in the case of this badge I wouldn't worry, its a turd. |

Agreed. I think $15 - $20, with shipping included, is a better price for that item. Needs more shine (e.g. reannodizing) Also, the tabs aren't shown. If they are mangled, knock off even more from the price. |

The "good-deal-ness" of an item is inversely proportional to the life of the ad.
You'll know it was a good deal because by the time you find it, it will be gone. |

| If anyone is looking for some ghia parts, let me know what you need. I have complete doors, steering wheels, emblems, rear lenses, side reflectors. Don't mean to offend anyone by listing here, just trying to help someone out if they need parts. |

Yes, that I've already experienced.
I'm learning though . . . I'm learning . . . |

I'm not seeing $350 in this rear bumper - anyone wanna clue me in?
And microscopic pix in ads really bug me. When I see this, I suspect the pic was copied from a thumbnail somewhere else.

The overrider on the right appears bent. $350 is a damned good price *IF* the chrome is mint, which this one definitely isn't. |

I went to a swap once and there was a ghia front bumper all pitted and dull looking. The guy was asking $600.
I know they are somewhat hard to find, and they can be expensive. But $350 for a needs-work rear is way to much. There are still lots of good $100 bumpers out there. And with Harrington repro bumpers available, and the $$$ it costs to re-finish originals, I can't see originals being worth too much more then $150ish - considering most of the time you are buying a core. |

I think $100 - $150 is about right for a decent, complete, usable bumper, since that's about what the core charge would run.
As an aside, KGPR stuck me for a core charge on a set of repro bumpers, which I felt was out of line. |

I agree. This is the official KGPR response:
Core charges are on some new parts because we want the old parts. We reduce the price and add a core charge to keep people from throwing out items that are badly needed in the market.
Really - who do you know that, when restoring a ghia and paying ~1300 for a set of repro bumpers, just throws the old ones away?
FWIW, they also charge you a core for their re-chromed bumpers as well, but I can understand that. |
