| I am alway looking for 65-71 cabinets to cut into spice racks. Particularly the large side cabinet/closet next to the bed. speaker holes etc okay. Can pick up between WA and LA before X-mas, or at Havasu. Sorry, won't pay big bucks. I charge the ridiculously small core charge of $35 for a spice rack, and will pay up to that for a closet. |

Slightly off topic... I was just looking at the '62 One Million Commercials brochure and got to the back cover.. look at all those sub-hatch campers loaded into the ship!

The roof hatches look shinier than the rest of the buses.. wonder if they were sprayed down with the protective waxy coating before being shipped to Westfalia, and then not sprayed again before going on the boat.
This picture brings up an interesting point. I guess westfalia shipped VW campers back to VW so they could be shipped out with all the other buses (save for tourist delivery buses, i guess) on the same ship? |

| I find it very interesting that 5 out of 6 of those campers in that photo are single color buses. |

I wonder what color that one hatch is in front of the Ruby...looks like solid gray? It is not dove blue...you can see a dove blue commerical there too...very cool look like so33s from the windows you can see into.

| That is a great picture, I cant really tell if the roof mounts for the tents are installed on the buses. Would these have been installed at a dealership or at the Westy factory before the wood panels for the roof were installed? |

Could be Light Grey, but kinda looks like solid Turkis on my monitor.

If you blow it up you can see them on the closest red bus. They look like they are body color....? |

Yes, they are painted body color that is correct. |

| I can make out 4 roof mounts on the red bus in the lower left uzing "zoom" controls on my mac. The bus color in question definitely looks Turkis to me... anybody ever seen a solid Turkis camper? I haven't. |

I hooked up Tom (tlaama) with a singletone turkis SO-33 a couple years back. although it had been repainted beige at some point, it was originally turkis. |

it is sloped, but it is not what is commonly referred to as a sloped rack. the legs are made out of U channel, not folded sheet metal. it sits much lower than a sloped rack. the tallest leg on an early rack is about the same height as the shortest leg on a sloped rack. |

I do have a couple of spare SO23 parts to trade... but unfortunately they are large. Have a spare hatch off a '61 and a water tank only......
Also have a couple of spare jalousie windows and front curtain tracks ( no nylon or end pieces) off a 67 SO42.
Located in Manitoba, Canada so shipping will be a problem! Talk to me if interested and we'll see what can be worked out. |

One way to check is if your right bumper supports are slightly bent because of that guy standing on the bumper! :D

No way they would fit inside. Interesting question...where are they? Did some come without roof racks?

Getting back to the thread's theme, I have these available for trade:
SO33/34
Original set of front curtains, red. Great shape.
SO42:
Mint child's cot with bars.
Spice rack, needs a bit of help
bed cushions with OG upholstery
ice box in need of lots of love
side windows and screens
id plates
rear overhead cabinet
og curtain material
og cabinet handles
og cabinet parts (misc).
dozens of cabinet brackets, screws, etc.
og interior light fixture plastic covers (2)
front curtain sliders (the plastic thingies)
Corner cabinet
aluminum track that mounts on the gutter to attach the tent. I have both pieces, but they need work.
og roof rack, in need of some restoration work.
There is more, that is all I remember without going to check in the garage.
I would like to trade/partial trade for wash basin and/or OG SO23 breadbox (cover and base), in good shape.
