That was a 59-61 so-23 interior. Seemed like a fair price for someone in need.

Doesn't look like anyone has, the ad is still up and the seller can't make up his mind....lol. He told me once it was mine, then changed his mind... I'm sure others have gotten the same run-around.

Honestly, it's not even that good of a deal. It's missing one seat back and the whatnot cabinet, along w/ the water tank. A kit in nicer shape, w/ all these items, only went for $14xx on ePay a few months ago.

There were a couple of things there I wanted, and was even willing to pick it up, but I won't deal w/ a seller who plays games like that. I predict that ad will be up for a while, and the seller will be doing a big WTF? in a few days...

ps. If he did you wrong as well, feel free to join in here:

EDIT:
10 days later, ad is still up....lol At least he finally got the years right.

Guy must be a good seller since he has some positive feedback. I'm sure he did get flooded with e-mails. I was one of them. He said it was mine but I'm not bitching. Price seems fare to me if you really need one or are even just looking for one. I made an offer and he politely declined it. So it must still be available. The ad reads first to pay come and get it. 950 and it's yours.

$10 water bottles. WTF

Heard, that was a joke they were teasing Crofty with.

Anyone who would think those jugs are only worth $10
would have just thrown em in the trash in the first place.

If you even know they go to a bus or westy, you know they
are worth more then $10.

Tom tried to get a photo of me holding his grand "worth"of bottles but was denied.

They are worth more than $10 for sure- I paid $25 for one of mine.

" a grand worth of water bottles" ? Good question Crofty. What are 3 water bottles in decent condition with green caps worth? The demand is high as there are quite a few people looking for them and they about never appear.

I would trade one of my chemical toilets ( a 2 bucket version) for 3 water jugs.

That's an interesting perspective Marc, I disagree however. I don't think having a few positive feedback posts automatically makes one a good seller. Look at Don Haight, aka: vwcru, he had page after page of + feedback before flaking w/ a lot of people's money. Your criteria do not fit there, and they do not fit here. I'm not saying this seller is all bad, but he handled this situation poorly and people deserve to know. Perhaps you should post your comments in his feedback thread, which I linked to above?

OTOH, it's probably good that folks are cool w/ this type of behavior, b/c buyers are certainly seeing it more and more. It's already become the norm on certain things on this site, I guess we'll just expand the horizons a bit more... Personally, I'm not cool w/ that, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Agreed... I have no real comment to make in his feedback thread since I've never bought anything from him.

I'm certainly not cool with this behavior but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm sure someone offered the dude more money and that made him rethink things. My offer was lower than his asking price which he declined. The ad is still up although the first to pay comment is gone, maybe it's still available???

No more whining, let's get back to trading since that's what this thread is all about.

I've got cash to trade for a hatch top westy. Anybody???

OK maybe less but not much. The 2 from sac $700 and the two from Art $400, right? They are worth what ever the sellers asking and the buyer triples.

The ones I saw for sale, initially, were $100-125 each.

ya, it's the same stuff/profile, the SO-42 one is only an inch or so longer... dunno if it's worth splicing.
I don't know if the SO-34 is the same as the SO-42. It should be the same length. my so-34 isn't terribly complete. lol

Here's a match made in heaven. I really dig this bus even without an interior. To bad the value of our dollar sucks.

Anyone have a set of the original pop-top hold down brackets? (the things that the rubber hold downs pop into) I've got a couple SO-42 trinkets for trade.

Thanks
Mike

I could do with finding a subhatch for my 62 flipseat. Unfortunately the flipseat is only westy part i have, other than the actual bus, so money is my only trading tool! Any out there? x

bastardbus Tue Jun 24, 2008 10:38 pm

I have 2 westfalia wood slat racks up for trades or sale...one is a hatch top `62-`65 style the other is `65-`67 pop top style. Both are nice original racks...

Too bad we live so far apart. I'd be tempted to take both of them off your hands + your 1960 SO-23
