I've got a non-walk thru so-42 ice box I'd consider trading for the correct walk thru ice box I need, must be in the same condition or better (will pay some cash if better). The box I have is in great shape.

So how many people have been contacted about items they'd be willing to trade by people just looking to buy. I noticed one person retracted items they had to trade, probably for that reason. I don't blame him either. Still like the thread and idea though. Hopefully, some people get what their looking for.

I hooked up Tom (tlaama) with a singletone turkis SO-33 a couple years back. although it had been repainted beige at some point, it was originally turkis.

So Lind do you memorize info about every bus you have ever seen? That was about 2 years ago and the bus was repainted then yellow . I have since used it for parts and it had a decent interior too. I do owe you for that. I have the m-code plate on my desk here and you are right it is the turkis. I used the front skin on my mosiak and the wheel wells on my so-33 and a ton of other items from it.
That was the bus that I looked up the owner and found him and he said he conceived his forst child in the bus and put a hit if acid in the gas tank when ever it ran badly and that made it run better. Tom

No one in this group would do that! LOL

I used to have a lot of stuff but I scaled back as storing some of that crap is a PITA. Heater parts are a lot easier to put somewhere cmpared to westy louvered windows or closets!

Hopefully this thread helps out a few people... but I know a lot of the "westy guys" know each other and have each others want lists in the back of their mind and a lot of deals happen without ever touching this site. I've already traded most of of my "spare" stuff so until I find some more, I'm out.

Roamingwesty Fri Dec 15, 2006 6:59 pm

I have flipseat's front seat brackets. Would like to trade them with cash for an SO-42 tent one day.

Yes, contacted by potential buyers, but not a single trader...still a nice idea, this thread.

I have hinges.

Crofty, Its the brass hinges I could use if you have any. I think the black ones may be for the so-42 but not sure. Or I can use a some westy tent mounts either to the front bumper or the roof. The westy fridge shelf pic is below to make sure we are talking about the same item.

I have a so-23 flip up table willing to trade for a so-33 flip up table. And an so-23 clamshell light for trade.

I NEED AN ORIGINAL HIGH HINGE PASSENGER SIDE B PILLAR,
IN PERFECT CONDITION, OR N.O.S.

been looking (as in asking everyone i know, repeatedly placing ads in the classifieds, following ANY leads given, waiting for pics, blah blah blah) for years, and i am tired of looking for this for my 56, and am seriously considering selling the bus because rarely does anyone ever follow through when they say they have one or know of one, and i am tired of waiting on this project.

i have a very small pile of misc small parts for various westfalia kits, will post pics soon.

Jon, think about what you are asking for with that B-pillar. NOS, never seen one myself, but might exist. A perfect used clip, basically that means cutting a bus that is probably worth saving. Plus high hinge means a minimum of a 45 years old. Sorry to say, but I'm not surprised it has been a difficult search. I'd say you should consider:
-lowering your standards (take a clip with a rusty bottom)
-buy a complete bus and cut it out yourself
-get someone like Gerson to make you one
-make it yourself

I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know and I wish I could point you to a potential source, but high hinge buses are pretty rare up this way.
