This 66 will be the newest addition to our family. It has been over 10 years since we have had an old Beetle at the house and we are really excited about this one. We will be keeping as original as possible

This 66 was owned by our son, who was 18 at the time (late 80's). He kept this car as OG as possible. He was a little different for the times... Now we will do the same with our newset 66.

Such a thing as 66 1/2? It was defintely 6 volt. I will give the stock paintedwheels some thought. I like the idea.

Sorry--was just going through all of the old pictures and realized this was not his car. I will post the picture of his.

It's a very nice stock bug. I agree that putting the two tone painted rims on it would add to it's already great looks. Also, find some original bumpers for it to replace the Brazilian ones.

Looks like painted rims areheaded to the "to do: list  . I already have some OG bumpers located at a local V-Dub repair shop here in Houston. Those will be on the "to do" list, also.

Have several V-Dub collectors around town where I should not have any trouble finding OG items. This one fella has several buildings in back of his shop w/parts . In addition, he has a back yard filled with cars & buses :-S. The good thing is that we have a strong foundation to a "rolling" project.

Very nice. Looks like 66's are popular items for Christmas this year. :D

Regarding painted steel wheels....anyone have some pics? I thought about that for mine too.

LOL, ya, THIS one is mine.

Missing the running board trim that was all wrecked. The running boards were probably the worst about my ol' Bug.

Well, I have made a few changes on my 66 since it arrived in January. I added an adjustable beam this weekend, so that I could rid myself of the baja looking front end height. Added the roof rack a few months back and have added a package tray inside. I replaced the Brazilian bumpers with some nice triple chromed, show quality bumpers I picked up in Austin. I also have a pair of Texas 66 plates that I will be registering shortly, along with pop out windows that are next on my agenda to install. Still have new rubber gaskets w/chrome inserts to install on the front & rear window glass. I will probably rebuild the original 1300 motor, even though it cruises 65-70 on the highway w/o any trouble. Oh yea...I will be adding painted smoothies all the way around and am thinking of adding whitewall tires 8)
