You are going to use adhesive rather than spot weld the panels on? What adhesive are you using? Fusor? Or something similair. Interesting approach, will avoid the waviness you see on factory panels i would think.

I thought the same thing. And this guy supposedly had no bodywork experience and had never welded just a year ago? I am calling BS. Unless of course he is an airplane mechanic, engineer, etc. |

indeed, i had no bodywork-welding exprecience until july 2006... I practiced a few days and I started this resto, neither an airplane mechanic or ...
I'm a 3D designer :)
I use Teroson Terokal 5045 bodywork 2K epoxy hardner from Henkel... Works great! I use it to glue the inner pilars and braces. I'll weld the edges ofcourse |

In know these adhesives are supposed to be stronger than welds and new cars use them, but I'd be worried. That panel is under a lot of tension and if your bond fail I can imagine the site of your long panel flying off at 120kph on the autobahn.

If you're worried about body parts flying off of glued vehicle panels, you should keep off the roads because most carmakers are using the stuff extensively. And he's welding the edges.
I hope you don't live on a busy street, if a lorry rolls past, it could screw up your alignment rig.
I am utterly amazed. Great job. |
