So, what do you think of the panel glue?
Did it set up the way you were hoping? |

Superb news!
The roof and front panel arrived 2 days ago in Rotterdam(Netherlands), about 5000 miles away from USA. It took a long time, about 7 months, but it was worth waiting... You can't find a roof around every corner ;)
Thursday, I'll pick them up (it's about 200miles to Rotterdam) and I'll post many pics of the trip over here...
I guess, within 2-3weeks, my roof & frontpanel will be welded in. And finally, 2 new rearcorners are waiting, so this panelvan will be built of 99% new metal.
I'll keep you guys up to date within 3-4 days
Some more pics:
Short side panel :
Continued the welding-works (not finished yet). And I have to clean up the redundant glue.
Long side panel is ready for paint :)

more:
It was time to grind all the pillars & gutters so only the shell remains.
It ain't easy to grind upside down so I had to turn over the roof and lay it on air mattresses to prevent any dent

So , next was the endless grinding-job:
5 hours later:
Finished the rear gutter (what a hell of a job) I have to grind everything very careful, so i won't make any mistakes. This is my only chance to make a roofswap, cuz i wont buy another one ;)
As you see, only the shell remains!

I continued the grinding job (so annoying and time-consuming!), but I have to keep on going...
Yesterday: Another 5 hours of grinding and now I'm half-way! :D Probably 10hours remaining... But after that , I'll be so pleased I have a roof on my bus 8)

Ten days passed since I picked up my roof/nose in Rotterdam (Netherlands) and 40 grinding-hours later, it was time to turn over the roof!
The remaining shell:
Supported with a pattern and clamp so it couldn't fold as I took it off my van and turned it over. It's very fragile
The shell:
Mission accomplished!
Detail:
Inside:
Now, I still have to support the aircobox so it lines up with the roof (there's a small gap) |
