Looks nice. What is going on in the brake department? Makes me wonder if the engine has been toyed with? Is it a repaint? Quit being such a tease and give up the goods.

Looks like drums thru the vents on the wheels. Also thing shop glass windows.

Is the yellow gas cap factory? I'm asking because I bought a 73 orange thing, and it had the same yellow gas cap. I thought the PO painted it.

Nope. In another post of his, he wrote:

"You guys are awsome. I hope one day I can help some poor soul solve a problem. Matt those wires were the exact colors you stated. Thanks for all the help. I posted a picture in the gallery yall let me know what you think(It has alluminum hubs and four wheel disc brakes)

Thank for the compliments. It has four wheel disc brakes. The engine has dual weber carbs but they are 44s on a 1600 (way to big ) I will probaly put smaller ones like 34s.I just bought the thing so I am going through it.Its funny you ask about the gas cap its actually a spray can top (the gas cap got left at the station) went back to get it but it was gone. I am waiting for one to come in. My goal is to put a bigger engine (1914 or so)
Thanks Lyle

So I guess mine is the only one with a yellow VW gas cap

Looking at the hubs in the pics, those look like Neal disc brakes. Good stuff.

iltis74 Sun Dec 24, 2006 4:12 pm

Yeah, I would definately make the engine earn those 44s.
