| The '76 Porsche 2.0 did in fact come with the air injection system from the factory. Not sure about other years. |

I don't think those holes were filled, it looks like they used dual pattern manifolds and gaskets, which have both 4 bolt a 3 bolt mounting patterns.
73 was the first year of the 2.0 ltr (Heads), which did not have air injection ports, 2.0 ltr in the years after did have air injection.
And if they were cleaned up you would more than likely see all the cracks around the plug holes, which can be fixed, but at an additional cost. But those pics were not shown, let alone the Tig welding that was mentioned. And I did see More Pics on Request. But still.
$400 is too much for un-known core heads that will need to be completely re-worked, and that means new seats, guides valves, springs, and who knows how much crack repair ?
The air injection ports are not an issue, they can be welded up. |

| I wouldn't do it, not for $400 and then you have to spend more money on them... If they have been welded to fix cracks, that means that they were run hot for a long time and the metal is fatigued which means they are toast. They will be OK for a while but they are still old and fatigued and chances are they will crack again. I think you are better off finding good pair of 1.7l heads with the big valves and have them rebuilt and slightly ported unless they have to be "Porsche" heads then pay the coin and chances are they will need some work. You can use 2l bus heads too but the valves are smaller and they don't flow as good, they are made for emissions and torque. That just my opinion though. |
