Just got her today from a friend of mine. Stole it at $200! She is a 69 with a rebuilt engine. The original owners manual is even included with papers such as date of purchase, where it was purchased, etc. My friend's father owns a service garage and the owner of the beetle was a loyal customer to him. The owner moved out of state and left the beetle to my friend's father which sat for many years. He decided to rebuild the engine, but lost interest. There are even brand new brazilian made running boards still boxed which came with the car, bunch of extra parts, wheels, etc. It has lots of front end rot, as you can see in the pics, particularly within the spare tire area. The driver side floor pan needs replacement. The battery area is rotted. Brakes go to floor. Things like the heater boxes are brand new, I took a very brief look at the heater channels and they seem solid. My plan is to do up the body work, have it sprayed, convert to disk brakes, drop the front end via an adjustable beam or drop spindles, lower the rear a notch, and just make it into a respectable daily driver. It's my first vw. Check out the pics!

Those fuel lines are an inferno waiting to happen. I would be suspect of the engine rebuilding capabilities of someone who can't even clamp fuel lines. And that fuel filter needs to get out of the engine compartment as well. Not bad for $200 though. :D

Yea, actually that long lower fuel line is something I just put on. The car has been sitting awhile since the rebuild and it would only pop off with starting fluid. Obviously fuel is not getting to the engine. I took that long fuel line and tried sucking through a gas can. I think the pump may possibly be bad as there is no suction or fuel going through the pump.
