The series of '38 prototypes were not production vehicles so it could be argued these were development vehicles that shared parts with other cars in the series, as was often the case.
To draw a parallel with mass produced, production vehicles would be wrong in my opinion. |

True, good point. They do however have unique chassis numbers, and this was clearly a chassis swap, as they had nothing left to deal with. But as I said, point taken.
I recall reading an article a few years ago about historic Jaguars, seems that one particular car, I believe it was an aluminum bodied xk-120, ended up spawning two or three “original” cars, as each was being built in different places, with scraps from the original. |
