| OK. I just bought a 64 bug and the rear fenders are cracked/broken. There are two cracks about 1 inch high and 34 inches apart on the back of the fender. Can this be welded and prepped for paint, or is new fender purchase in my future? |

If they are original fenders, they are probably worth repairing. The Reproductions I've seen are not too good. Find someone to weld them up for you. If it were me, I would gas weld them. Pretty easy to get to the back side of the weld with a dolly for metal-finishing.
