Where do you look to find the original paint code for a 1961 Beetle? The car is still the original Blue and I'd like to keep it that way. Problem being that the paint chips I looked at on Wolfsburg West don't appear to be the same. The car is a Deep Blue leading me to believe it's the L390 Gulf Blue. It just doesn't look like it from the picture.

| Thanks for the link. From what it shows on that site it's the right colour. That is unless you look at the same colour code for the next year. Same code, same name, looks different. I guess it's gamble time. At least an educated guess is better than flipping a coin. |

Re-reading your first post, Mo, are you wondering what the OG paint is for your car, or do you need the code for the paint you know is on there?
Quickest no bullshit way is to "Ask Lenny". Lenny Copp at WestCoastClassicRestorations. He's forgotten more about this stuff than I can ever know. E-mail or call and he can help. He's hooked other bros up here with paint problems, especially early model stuff.
