I recently hit a wild ass with my 68 bus and have severly damaged the front. I am planing on pulling out most of the dent and filling in with bondo for now, but I am intrested in reskinning the nose and am wondering if it is worth the trouble and how to go about doing it. Any body work advice would be helpfull as well.

On the 68 bud the rear of the nose is acessible and would be fairly easy to acess from behind. while it is a big panel and is prone to warpage. by warpage I mean when yoknock a dent out in the center it may buckle elsewhere. it would take alot of time to punch out the dent effectively. You are going to spend alot of time reskinning the nose. (provided you can find one worth using) Most aftermarket panels are copys from original panels. They are slightly large and will require cutting and fitting. the sheet metal used is generally high quality. it is probably more work to replace the skin than to push it out. ask yorself the all important question. What are my plans with this vehicle? Transportation or show car. show car replace the nose Daily driver hammer it out thin coat of bondo bondo is intended to be no more than 3/16th of an inch thick. use a short strand dynaglass type filler or metal based filler any thicker than that and is highly discouraged. hope this helped

The ass's name didn't happen to be Ian, did it? If so, you'll make a lot of people here very happy!
