| I've got a 69 Bug. The chassis is solid. Has anyone ever tried to coat one on the bottom with Line X or Rhino Liner- the stuff they use for spray in bedliners? They can spray it on up to 1/4 in thick and it seems like it would never get rock chips and start to rust ever again. |

The pans generally rust out from the inside not from the bottom like you would think ( maybe in some snowbelt climate with alot of salt on the road)
I recently used some brush on bedliner stuff on a few pan jobs and was impressed with the results... but I did not use it on the underside, still used spray can rubberized undercoating there.
I would be pretty damn bullet proof if you did decide to spend the bucks to do it though... |

| I sprayed my own bedliner and painted my suspension parts with it and the whole front compartment of my bug. I sprayed some test on a sheet and chucked stones at it. Not one chip. I am sure Line-X would be awsome undercoat. I plan to have that done as well |
