i posted a qeustion about sealer a few days ago. I have been sanding and using filler on dents and getting rid of rock chips and stuff like that, but what else is there to painting a car. I dont know anything about paint as far as what to use with what and how to do it. I am trying to look for as much info as possible about painting my bug, so it turns out at least ok. I dont see why the finish coat would react with the rattle can primer if there is sealer on top of it. Im not going for a show qaulity paint job in any stretch of the mind, just very presentable. I also would like a paint job that isnt blotchy. So if you guys could give me any info on any of the stuff that i said, or anything else that is involved with the painting of a car please let me know. thanks
ps- this will be on a daily driver, and im going to use single stage. but im not sure what brand or what color yet.

67,
Suggest you read John Henry's technical article on this, in thebugshop.org. Do a web search; there are any number of good sites that walk you through the process. If you still have questions, get a library book. If you still have questions, then chances are they will be good, informed questions. Take those questions to the paint shop and they will be glad to answer them for you. |
