| I'm having 56 seats sand blasted. Should i paint the coils also? or just leave them alone? well they rust again if i don't paint them? And will the paint chip off is i do paint them? Thanks!!!!! |

I used Loctite Rust Conversion spray on my springs. They turned a nice shade of black, meaning it did its job, and one and a half years later, they still look great!
I wouldn't use any kind of thick paint, as I agree that it would flake off. Maybe a thin clear coat spray after the conversion spray?
I didn't do it, but it seems to make sense. |

I powder coated one of mine but they are a pain to blast and spray. I know I won't have any probs with that though because it is so flexible. It would probably depend on what kind of paint you used. Laquer would flake off for sure.

You need some kind of metal coating or flexible paint. I sprayed mine with Extend, which I think is a similar product to the thing JPickens is talking about. Same good results becuase the product seems to stay minimally flexible. And Extend is not that expensive either.

| It's also called Permatex Extend spray, its all the same stuff, by the same manufacturer. |
