What badging?
My notch is a 64 with N doors/hood props that came out of France. What badging should be above the license plate lamp?
VW?
1500?
I would like to properly script the back end. Thanks! |

"VOLKSWAGEN" on top. "1500" underneath, plain chrome on license light. |

Old style script. The "VOLKSWAGEN" is shared with split and early Bay buses. |

Well, then... you'll just have to come up and visit your parts stash in Springtucky, won't you? |

Alrighty... after hitting every auto parts or hardware store in my area, I finally found the 4 bolts I need to re-install the turbo and not have to be Stretch Armstrong to tighten things up! They are m8x1.25x70mm socket head bolts for the intake/adapter stuff. Now, a non raining Saturday and I should have opportunity to get it back in. I've done the install, check, install stuff enough now that I should only need about 2 hours of uninterrupted wrench time.
Woot! |

| Car is in the garage awaiting the completion of the turbo re-install! A couple more fittings to install and then the carb/throttle cable and I should be able t test fire again! I'm just hoping that the intake leaks are finally dealt with  |

| Well, the re-install went well. Now, since I don't have defrost, I have time to do some little things before the car comes out. I just found out I have an MSD 6al w/ timing control box coming to install. Also, I am pulling the tach back out and putting the the shift light back in. And finally, I have to move my line loc button to a better location. Other than that, the car is much closer to ready than it was a month ago! |

| WOW, almost 5 years in the making. Granted, it DID get an unexpected road trip before it hit the track. :P Is it going to the track this year? Or are those funds dedicated to going to the Invasion?  |

I'm very much wanting to hit the track, but it won't be until after the Invasion and its costs are calculated. That, and it might be the car I bring again...
That 5 years included a distributor gear getting chewed up (my fault), head to intake manifold studs pulling (not my fault), change of transmission, carbs put back on for daily driving/2010 Invasion, all the episodes of the Invasion trip itself, running out of money more times than I can count and lots of throwing my hands in the air out of frustration.
Having said all that, 5 years ain't so bad  |

| the push is on! with the Blue Bomb having to come off the road, I need a daily driver ASAP. Either push forward with the turbo stuff or put the carbs back on it... I'd like the former, but might have to go with the ladder as we know it works. |

Why don't you stick the Bomb's engine into my old '68 and start driving it? |
