:D I was recently given ( yes free ) a clean 82 diesel rabbit. I'm "longblocking" the engine and refurbishing the trans., linkage etc. Can someone point me in a direction for interior replacement items. Headliner, carpets, seats etc. Also are any interior items interchangeable with the bugs,gias,t-3's?

Welcome to water :D Its not as bad as you think

Early rabbit (ie 75-77) seats are pretty much superbeetle seats. Any watercooled front seat up to 92 will slide right in. I have 93 Corrado seats in my pickup. For your headliner you should have the cardboard and fabric type and that is easy to recover. Head to a fabric store and get some foam backed "headliner fabric" and a few cans of 3M SUPER77 headliner grade spray adhesive. Once you take the existing one apart you can easily figure out how it goes back together. Or if you want the older bow style you have to pull it from a pre 1980 rabbit.

I am looking around for interior stuff for my 1982 Rabbit Diesel and checked out the TMI website ... tmiproducts.com I downloaded a few PDFs -- Door Panels, Carpet Kits, and Seat Upholstery. I see Rabbit/GTI listed, but no plain-old Rabbit. Does this mean only the GTI has parts and if so do they also fit a plain Rabbit?

You can hit junk yards and pick up later model interior seats, from A-2 Jettas and Golfs. Look at the Quantams too
