Looking forward to seeing your '53 at a Florida Owners Group event.

Mark

I've been watching eBay like a hawk and have yet to see an Alachua tag, so I finally decided I'd just buy the best condition tag I could find and swap it with the "perfect" 11D if one ever shows up. The one I have is a Hillsborough (3). I bought a '67 tag for my bus, too.

Yeah, I want to come to one of the events (even paid my dues) but so far it seems I always have a conflict. I'll get there eventually. So far, I've only seen one other 356 (C) here. I met the owner at a local rod/cruise.

Well we certainly wouldn't want that, would we, LOL.

At this point, I'm leaning to black on black.

Got my '53 FL plate a few weeks ago and need to make a run to Tallahassee soon....

I wouldnt be so sure about those trim rings, I put a set on mine and I didnt like how it look in my car. and a lot of Samba friends agree the same. you can see a pic here in the samba gallery.
without the hubcaps looks better but a little odd. IMO
I would like to see some turbos in your car. I hate white walls!!

I'm convinced :-) Black with blackwalls and no trim rings.....that's what I'm going to do! No more waffling.......

"Ran sweet the whole way, getting 20mpg."

Is that typical miles per gallon? I would have thought better somehow.

I don't know if that's typical or not. I've tuned the carbs, put a pertronix in the 383, new wires and plugs, etc, but haven't checked the mileage recently. I wouldn't be surprised if it's quite a bit better now.

What do you think it should get on the highway? Mine's a 2 piece 1500/546 55hp.
