| I have found a 914 without the motor. I have found a 1.7 liter motor to put in it. I want to build it to a 2.0 liter. I have found a guy that is willing to sell me a crank out a 2.0. What i wanted to know was is there a difference in the rods between them? could i save the money and have the existing rods in the 1.7 made to match up with the 2.0 crank? |

No you can't make 1.7 rods into 2.0L rods. They cost about a $100 for a rebuild set.
There are some Chinese 2.0l rods coming on the market but don't know the cost.. |
